Design Thinking & Creative Process at AllState Pizza
Design is at the heart of everything AllState Pizza does. From our logo and packaging to our restaurant interiors and digital interfaces, every design decision reflects our commitment to quality, authenticity, and customer experience. This blog shares our design philosophy, creative process, and insights into how great design drives business success.
Our brand identity has evolved significantly since our founding. In this post, I'll walk you through our design journey—from our initial logo concepts to our current visual system. We wanted to create a brand that felt both traditional and modern, authentic yet approachable, premium yet accessible.
Our color palette was carefully chosen: the warm red represents passion and quality, the cream background evokes warmth and comfort, and the green accents suggest fresh, natural ingredients. Every element of our visual identity tells a story about who we are and what we stand for.
Your pizza box is the first thing customers see when their order arrives. We invested heavily in packaging design to ensure it reflects our brand values and protects our product. Our custom boxes feature our logo prominently, include helpful reheating instructions, and use sustainable materials.
The design process involved multiple iterations, testing with customers, and collaboration with our sustainability team. The result is packaging that's beautiful, functional, and environmentally responsible.
Our restaurant spaces are designed to be warm, welcoming, and conducive to great experiences. We use warm lighting, comfortable seating, and open kitchen designs that let customers see our pizza makers at work. The layout encourages both quick service and lingering conversations.
We incorporated local art, sustainable materials, and thoughtful details that reflect our community commitment. Each restaurant tells a story and creates a unique sense of place while maintaining brand consistency.
Our mobile app is designed with one principle in mind: make ordering pizza as simple and enjoyable as possible. We conducted extensive user research, created detailed user personas, and tested multiple interface designs with real users.
The result is an intuitive interface that guides users through the ordering process in just a few taps. Large, clear buttons, helpful product images, and smart defaults reduce friction and increase conversion rates. We also prioritized accessibility, ensuring our app is usable by everyone.
Typography is often overlooked, but it's crucial for creating a cohesive brand experience. We selected typefaces that are both readable and distinctive. Our sans-serif fonts are clean and modern, while our serif accents add sophistication and tradition.
We established clear hierarchy rules: headlines are bold and prominent, body text is readable at any size, and supporting text is subtle but accessible. This consistency across all touchpoints—from our website to our menus to our social media—reinforces our brand identity.
Color choice is more than aesthetic—it's psychological. Red stimulates appetite and conveys energy and passion. Cream suggests warmth, comfort, and quality. Green represents freshness, health, and sustainability. Together, these colors communicate everything AllState Pizza stands for.
We tested our color palette extensively with focus groups and analyzed how colors performed across different contexts. The result is a palette that's distinctive, memorable, and perfectly aligned with our brand positioning.
Simplicity: We believe great design should be invisible—it should make things easier, not more complicated.
Authenticity: Our designs reflect who we really are—a passionate team committed to quality pizza and community.
Consistency: Every touchpoint, from our logo to our packaging to our digital interfaces, tells a cohesive story.
Sustainability: We design with environmental responsibility in mind, choosing materials and processes that minimize our impact.
